<span style="font-family: Arial;">No such thing as …
immortality. It is the first in the No Such Thing paranormal romance trilogy.<br />
<br />
<b>Where did the idea come from for the book? </b><br />
I was on a low following a car accident a few years ago and I started exploring
further the idea of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and asking
myself ‘what if?’ What if it wasn’t in fact the wrong place, wrong time ― not
for me, obviously ― but for some fictional characters who meet as a result of a
car crash? What if those characters come with their own distinct set of issues
that ensure the ‘side effects’ of their meeting make the accident itself pale
into insignificance? Even ― what if the accident itself should have been
impossible? The plot was then taken forward by the characters. I couldn’t have
begun to conjure up where they took it. </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br />
<b>What genre does your book fall under? </b><br />
Paranormal romance.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I love paranormal, I

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br />
<b>What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a film
version? </b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I haven’t ever thought about
this ― and to be honest, even if I had, I wouldn’t want to say. The way I
write, I leave a lot of visualisation for the reader. I attempt to write just
enough to allow the reader to clearly picture a scene ― or the hero and heroine
― for themselves. I’m probably making little sense here ― but I like to use
words that will trigger the reader’s own imagination without me unnecessarily
spoon-feeding them. As a result, whilst the hero they picture would most
definitely be dark and hot as hell, there would still be some room for their
own mind to fully visualise him. If I provided the name of an actor it would
ruin that. <br />
<br />
I can say though, the heroine could not be played by your typical Hollywood star.</span><span style="font-family: Wingdings; mso-ascii-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-hansi-font-family: Arial; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings;"></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial;"><br />

<b>What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?</b> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Oh dear. I’ve never been any
good at doing the synopsis. It’s an intense paranormal love story with―
Actually, I will cheat and provide you with my tongue-in-cheek elevator pitch.
‘Bridget Jones meets Interview with a Vampire and Peter Pan.’ Very
tongue-in-cheek.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br />
<b>Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? </b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">It is being published by the
wonderful award-winning publishers, Choc Lit. I still have to pinch myself
about that. It is out on Ebook on 16 November and then paperback on 7 January.<br />
<br />
<b>How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript? </b><br />
A few months. But that was the first draft. Subsequent drafts took an age.<br />
<br />
<b>What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? </b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I think I will steal Chris’s
answer here ― that’s up to the reader. Although Choc Lit is promoting it as
their version of Twilight: grown up; British ― and from the hero’s point of
view.<br />
<br />
<b>Who or what inspired you to write this book? </b></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial;">That has to be the car

<b>What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">It is written entirely from
the hero’s point of view. I gather this is unusual ― although I considered the
story couldn’t be written in any other way. He, by the way, is a very, very hot
vampire (Nathaniel Gray or Nate) who, as a result of events, finds himself well
and truly outside of his comfort zone. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br />
I’m now passing the baton to the very talented <a href="http://www.lovereadinglovebooks.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Sue Fortin.</a> Sue's writing is equally as fabulous as she is. </span></div>

The cover for <i>No such thing...as immortality</i> was officially revealed yesterday - and here it is!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3W4lupSlQAo-hm4W0pKGQJUCHpgZ20mxv5IfZBBu8w5ts4jT0tMAUSSARyeqmZFdfxX25OfEuV1xdmmMly4o-GZhmkf4RmIz-zKNA9-40-SMpID7wk77JTJuKlf0ifmbljYQ7st5MWJ0/s1600/NSTAI_packshot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3W4lupSlQAo-hm4W0pKGQJUCHpgZ20mxv5IfZBBu8w5ts4jT0tMAUSSARyeqmZFdfxX25OfEuV1xdmmMly4o-GZhmkf4RmIz-zKNA9-40-SMpID7wk77JTJuKlf0ifmbljYQ7st5MWJ0/s320/NSTAI_packshot.jpg" width="250" /></a></div>
And how beautiful does it look? I am totally and utterly THRILLED with it!<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
You may note a ‘Twilight-esque’ feel to the design - <span></span>which is for good reason.<span> </span><em>No such thing as…immortality </em>is to be promoted as Choc Lit’s <em>Twilight.</em></div>
<ul>
<li> As told entirely from the hero’s perspective ― this is vampire, Nathaniel Gray’s story</li>
<li> British</li>
<li>For grown women</li>
</ul>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Controversial?<span> </span>Quite possibly, but these days, any powerful first person love story featuring a vampire is likely to attract comparisons with <em>Twilight, </em>no matter the plot or the characters.<span> </span>We
therefore decided to embrace such comparisions, particularly as the
white rose on the cover couldn’t be more perfect for Nate’s story.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So Choc Lit, the home of the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s, <em>2012 Romantic Novel of the Year </em>and best New Comer awards (well done again Jane and Evonne!) will now be home to a grown-up and very British, <em>Twilight</em>.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt;">Thank you Choc Lit for having the faith in me and the book to market it this way.<span> </span>And thank you Berni Stevens for the perfect cover.<span> </span><span> </span>How excited and squealy am I? And <em>look!</em> That’s <em>my </em>name on there…*squeeeeeeel*</span>Sarah Tranterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11540490389427816896noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2431336291213809097.post-3588150360609203122012-05-19T13:09:00.000-07:002012-05-19T13:09:47.480-07:00I'M A RISING STAR!!!<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml>

Wooohoooo!<br />
<br />
My first ever post on the Choc Lit Authors's Blog has appeared - and thank you to everyone who has taken the time to visit and post. <br />
<br />
I'm not going to pretend that the exercise wasn't just a little bit scary :) - because it seriously was - but it was sooo exciting too! I believe I may have lost the plot slightly as I talked about squealing - and revealed my hankering for a knitted Will, but did get through the necessary introductions:)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLGt8Oj55v7T8p7lOxyUiKaaOtUZEypwjrRyabXoIPUQ9EMq40KdYkTB-IKDw6D2o-nvBN8PNIsA9n6OU0G7iHELsQYHnoPaMHMUKWVArZIc-jkAhoTbj9AUKGqHwLOAWKwnpCuY1pATA/s1600/vampire+doll+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLGt8Oj55v7T8p7lOxyUiKaaOtUZEypwjrRyabXoIPUQ9EMq40KdYkTB-IKDw6D2o-nvBN8PNIsA9n6OU0G7iHELsQYHnoPaMHMUKWVArZIc-jkAhoTbj9AUKGqHwLOAWKwnpCuY1pATA/s1600/vampire+doll+1.jpg" /></a></div>
And of course - I talked about the book some!<br />
<br />

I believe the following link to the latest news in Book Trade is cause enough for a little excitement :)<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thank you Lucie Wheeler for awarding me ‘The Lucky 7 Meme’. I'm loving the opportunity of taking part in this challenge. Lucie blogs over <a href="http://luciewheeler.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/lucky-7-award-novel-extract/" target="_blank">here</a> and if you follow the link you will see her own extract from her own WIP, <i>Head over Heart.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The rules for this challenge:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<em><strong>1. Go to page 77 of your current MS/WIP</strong></em><br />
<em><strong>2. Go to line 7</strong></em><br />
<em><strong>3. Copy down the next 7 lines, sentences, or paragraphs, and post them as they’re written.</strong></em><br />
<em><strong>4. Tag 7 authors</strong></em><br />
<em><strong>5. Let them know</strong></em><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The following extract is from <i>No such thing as...immortality.</i> I am beyond delighted to say that this MS has been accepted by Choc Lit and will be published in 2013. It is still very much a work in progress, however. Edits have yet to take place and with this being a debut novel, I fear they are going to be rather extensive :) </div>

comedy romance for <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Please Don’t Stop the

out, after being shortlisted for best contemporary for <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Untied Kingdom</i>. <br />

I’ve signed with Choc Lit!
Arrrggghhhhhhhhhh! Yep, a few
weeks after the event but I am still on cloud 9zillion. Choc Lit have signed my debut novel, <em>No such

series. </div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
It seriously doesn’t get any better than this. <a href="http://www.choc-lit.co.uk/" target="_blank">Choc Lit </a>were my number one choice of

For anyone not familiar with Choc Lit ― start reading their
books now! I read a lot. Make that an
awful lot. And I can safely say their
books are exceptional, standing above and beyond so much of the competition. This year, three of their books have been
nominated for the prestigious Romantic Novelists Association awards. Jane Lovering for best Romantic Comedy,
Christina Courtenay for best Historical and Kate Johnson for best Contemporary
Romance. </div>

I didn’t for one moment think they would take me on. They were something to aspire to. But they did!

My news. I’ll be on here
providing updates as <em>No such thing as…immortality</em> progresses further along the
road to publication. No doubt I’ll be on
here with my ramblings too. I have a
feeling that now I’ve started, there will be no stopping me. In the meantime, good luck to Jane, Christina
and Kate for Monday! </span>Sarah Tranterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11540490389427816896noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2431336291213809097.post-66099731618102292452012-03-03T11:15:00.002-08:002012-03-03T11:15:53.171-08:00Yesss!<br />
